LITERARY TRINKET

Picture
The Concept: Use 3-D printing and the Internet to share the books you love with strangers! Enter basic information about the book on the Literary Trinket web site. Someone will place a Literary Trinket somewhere in New York City. The first person who finds it will be able to enjoy the book you love for free!

READ AGAIN

This accessible internet design project uses augmentation and mixed modalities to help aging readers dealing with vision and/or hearing loss revisit the joy of reading. The goal is to create experiences for people who love to read but face physiological barriers that make the written word less accessible and enjoyable. Accessible Times is a Read Again app designed for The New York Times Hackathon in 2014. Click here to learn about the process and inspiration behind the
Read Again experience.

BUELLERLY 2nd Place Tiggzi (later to be called Appery) Prize Winner

Buellerly allows teachers to easily track student absences and notify parents in real-time when their child is absent from school. The app immediately sends an SMS text message to parents when a student is absent from school. It will improve student attendance by collecting detailed data to help identify and quantify the most common reasons for absences. Click here for AT&T Aspire article. Idea and name by Julie Setbon.

SPANKY ZAPP STORE (deprecated )

These clips are from an enhanced prototype created for Tech Crunch 2013, before there was much media coverage about security in technology. The app crashed on stage (it's okay, I was to0 sleepy from pulling an all-nighter to be phased) but was the only entry to take an immersive, experiential approach to teaching users about credit card data security. I conceived and built the original prototype using a version of Appery.io that is no longer supported. Navigate the  slideshow to enjoy a bit of the humorous learning experience I designed for Visa customers.
